U.S. Begins Relocating Tanker Aircraft from Ben Gurion Airport

The U.S. Air Force has begun relocating some of its aerial refueling aircraft stationed at Ben Gurion Airport in Israel to other locations.

According to Israeli media reports, around 33 U.S. tanker aircraft are currently based at the airport. In the first phase, approximately 10 aircraft are expected to be moved, while around 25 are planned to remain.

The decision is reportedly aimed at easing parking and operational capacity at Ben Gurion Airport, which is expected to handle more than 2.6 million passengers in August.

Israeli Transport Minister Miri Regev had previously called for some of the U.S. military aircraft to be transferred to military bases.
